We are seeking talented individuals who support our vision and strategic plan that encompasses “A Culture of Excellence in ALL We Do.” ### Job Summary The Position: The Los Angeles County Office of Education and the Juvenile Court Schools seek well-qualified individuals to serve as dynamic, creative, and team-oriented Single (Math, English, Science, and Social Studies) or Multiple Subject Teachers. Under the supervision and direction of the school principal, the juvenile court schoolteacher provides an educational program for students. The ideal candidate will work to best prepare At-Promise students and provide opportunities for educational success, including but not limited to credit recovery, high school diploma, trade, career readiness, or college. The selected teacher/s will have skills and experience that engage a diverse student population while embedding many skills beyond the content area. Students at the Juvenile Court Schools are challenged to think globally and self-reflect while nurturing communication, presentation, and dynamic group skills. Beyond being an expert in a subject matter, the ideal teacher candidate should effectively utilize various teaching and assessment strategies. ### Requirements / Qualifications Must hold a valid CA teaching credential authorizing basic academic service i.e.; Multiple Subjects or Single Subject (Math, English, Science, and Social Studies) Credential. Must have CLAD or BCLAD. •Successful teaching experience or successful remedial teaching experience. •Knowledge of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) behavior management systems. •Must have demonstrated the ability to work effectively with colleagues, school personnel, and paraprofessionals. •Must possess knowledge of recent educational trends related to the instructional programs for at-promise students, adjudicated youth, and students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). •Successful teaching experience with adjudicated or at-promise students with various learning needs in a multicultural setting is required. In order to be considered as a candidate, the application must include email and phone contact information for three professional references. One reference must be your current supervisor. Select individuals who can comment on your skills, work ethic, and abilities based on their professional experience with you. Ideally, these references should be former supervisors or colleagues, who have directly observed your work performance. Now you are ready to upload the credential document into EdJoin.
