For over 30 years, Arcadia Educational Foundation has proudly coordinated summer programs for families in the Arcadia District. We are seeking passionate and qualified Mandarin Instructors to create a FUN and ENRICHING learning experience this summer!

Class Details

Instructors will immerse students in Mandarin through everyday activities and cultural exploration, focusing on:

Class 1: Conversational Chinese & Pronunciation

* Designed for beginners with zero to limited Mandarin knowledge.
* Emphasis on basic conversation skills, tones, and pronunciation.

Class 2: Chinese Heritage Prep

* Geared toward fluent speakers seeking to deepen reading and writing skills.
* Focuses on literacy and complex discussions.

Tentative Dates: June 11 – July 17, 2025  
Location: Dana Middle School, 1401 S. 1st Ave., Arcadia, CA 91006  
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, mornings

Responsibilities

* Design engaging lesson plans tailored to students' language proficiency.
* Foster a positive and dynamic classroom environment.
* Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
* Communicate with students and parents about academic performance.
* Introduce cultural elements, traditions, and arts to enhance learning.

Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
* Proficiency in Mandarin and experience teaching the language.
* Knowledge of curriculum development and literacy education.
* Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills.
* Experience with middle school education preferred.
* Excellent communication and student engagement skills.

This is a summer only position and contract will be offered once there is enough enrollment in the classes. We will be working with the right candidate for the position to create two of class 1 and one of class 2 courses for summer of 2025.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 18 per week
