Job Description
Temporary Preschool Teacher (Full-Time, 2+ Years' Experience) Alta Plaza Preschool is seeking a temporary (1 year commitment) Teacher to fill a part to full-time position to cover a maternity leave. He/She will work closely with the team of Educators and Director to plan and implement a developmentally age appropriate curriculum. The position has a November to December start date. Alta Plaza Preschool is a highly respected preschool located in Pacific Heights providing care and education for children ages 2.5 to 5.5 years. The Alta Plaza Preschool program addresses the individual, social, emotional, and educational needs of the child. We are a play based preschool that strives toward a child-centered curriculum. Our teachers put play at the heart of our curriculum and help to support the children in this with proper time, materials, and thoughtful teaching. Candidate will be energetic, displaying a professional demeanor at all times, self-starter, well versed in early childhood development teaching techniques and must have the ability to lead and assist in classroom management. Daily responsibilities will include: Interacting with children ages 2.5 - 5.5 years, prepare & implement age appropriate activities, effective & professional communication with staff and parents, and work closely with staff members in the development & implementation of a comprehensive & developmentally appropriate play-based curriculum. Qualifications: -A.A./B.A. degree with an emphasis on Early Childhood Education preferred -2+ years experience -California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher -Strong classroom management skills -Positive and enthusiastic attitude -Nurturing and caring personality -Dependability and flexibility to meet needs of school Requirements: Livescan CPR certified TB tested More Information: altaplazapreschool.com Submit your cover letter and resume to the Executive Director, Erika Tinoco.
