Job Description
This position involves designing, conducting, promoting, evaluating and supporting health professions education programs in compliance with organizational objectives and nationally accepted accreditation standards and requirements. Supports learners (including but not limited to faculty, residents, clinical fellows, graduate or undergraduate learners, practicing or licensed professionals) in areas such as curriculum, teaching and learning activities, scheduling, core competencies, assessment and evaluations. Coordinates all activities associated with ongoing administration of health professions education programs including event planning support. The Division of Hospital Medicine (DHM) is the largest division in the DOM in terms of faculty size and is a national leader in clinical care, education, research, and quality improvement. Clinically, the division runs 11 clinical services and provides care for nearly half of the patients in the adult hospital on any given day. The Division is comprised of 91 faculty, 7 MSP Physicians, 9 fellows, and 35 staff. Additionally, it solicits from a cadre of 100 physicians, fellows, and residents outside the division for moonlighting services. The UCSF HEAL Initiative exists to train, transform, and build a community of front-line health professionals committed to working with underserved communities for their lifetimes. The HEAL initiative is the largest and most diverse global health fellowship in the US – with a community of over 200 fellows and alumni from 19 sites across 9 countries. The UCSF HEAL Initiative is recruiting a Program Associate to join our team. The Program Coordinator in this position will provide administrative support for a number of ongoing global health initiatives within HEAL. This includes supporting planning logistics and administrative tasks related to HEAL trainings and events; assisting HEAL faculty with tasks related to mentorship plans and strategies; and assisting HEAL staff with tasks related to visa applications and fellow accompaniment. Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related area and 1+ years of related work experience; and/or equivalent experience/training * Exposure and experience with HEAL program or similar global health fellowship program * Ability to work independently and as a team member * Proven record of reliability and attendance * Ability to use multiple resources to resolve question/problem at hand * Ability to multitask and prioritize well * Ability to work with faculty on high-level, time-sensitive, and detail-oriented projects. Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure of competing priorities * Demonstrated ability to make sound judgment and ability to summarize/report information * Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars / schedules requires extremely well organized and detail oriented precision * Communication skills; includes verbal, written and active listening. Service oriented and responsive to questions and requests.
