Job Description
 Reporting into the controller, the incumbent will be responsible for the full accounting cycle related to their designated business units.
   

  

* Ensure the accuracy of accounting records.
* Prepare and present monthly and annual financial statements.
* Provide regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances and opportunities for improvement.
* Perform monthly and year-end closing tasks.
* Participate in various continuous improvement projects to optimize processes and reduce financial reporting cycle times.
* Develop and prepare various value-added financial analyses.
* Ensure compliance with tax obligations by preparing and submitting tax returns in accordance with applicable tax legislation.
* Work closely with the company's various partners to understand their businesses, help them understand their financial drivers and challenge their assumptions.
* Collaborate with other departments to obtain necessary information and resolve accounting issues.
* Handle audit requests by collaborating with external auditors, providing the necessary documentation, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements.


Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
* Perusing CPA designation, an asset
* 3+ years of relevant experience
* Advanced Excel skills and experience with an accounting ERP system
* Experience preparing financial statements
* Experience in performing account reconciliations and analysis
* Strong organizational and communication skills
* Self-motivated with the ability to multitask
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
