Job Description

The ideal candidate will have substantial exposure to monthly closing processes, reporting, journal entries and preparing financial statements. They will be organized and approach each issue with an analytical mindset.
 







Responsibilities 



* Ensure business transactions are reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
* Review backup schedules such as depreciation, inventory, and other supporting documents for monthly and year-end financial statements.
* Ensure monthly reconciliation of all general ledger accounts and bank accounts are up to date
* Manage an efficient and effective financial close and reporting
* Improve the quality of financial reporting and analysis on an ongoing basis
* Streamline and automate routine accounting processes and activities.
* Work closely with team members for the month-end close
* Assist with the annual audit process including the draft of the financial statements and related notes
* Research and analyze expense variances



  





Qualifications 




  




* 3-5+ years' of professional accounting experience
* CPA enrolment or designation is an asset
* ERP experience is required
* Advanced level Excel skills
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experience
* Effective problem solving skills
* Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
