 Job Description  

Join our Waterproofing team as Product Engineer responsiblefor Liquid Applied Membranes (LAM)! In this role, you’ll be the technical expert for Corporate Waterproofing Systems used in water retaining structures - water management, bridge deck waterproofing, car parks, and more. From managing the full product lifecycle to providing technical support for global projects, you'll ensure that only top-tier solutions reach the market. If you have 5-10 years of experience in product management or engineering, with a deep knowledge of Liquid Applied Membranes, we want to hear from you!

Our goals - Your path

* Leads assigned corporate product development projects (acc. to PCP process), evaluation processes of third party products (TPP) and is responsible to maintain his assigned existing product and system portfolio.
* Leads and controls field testing of newly developed or optimized products.
* Elaborates and maintains corporate technical- and marketing- documentation (Product Data Sheets, Method Statements, Brochures, Specification Clauses, Technical Lead Articles etc.).
* Works out unique selling propositions for Sika products and continuously benchmarks Sika’s solutions versus competitor offerings
* Recognizes market trends and customer needs, translates these needs into product specifications and steers R&D product developments; contributes to the strategy development
* Drives and steers development activities for complete LAM systems in the field of water management, bridge deck water-proofing and carparks
* Supports the distribution team in their efforts to grow LAM solutions in the trade and retail business.
* Provides technical support to key clients, marketing, sales, regional and local product engineers; provides technical support for key construction projects globally
* Handles claims related to corporate products and provides support for claim handling of local products


Further Tasks:

* Elaborates training modules and provides training to sales organizations, local/regional product engineers and clients, specifiers & architects
* Ensures lean product portfolio; suggests possibilities for product line simplification
* Represents Sika interests at international standard committees, associations or other relevant organizations

  

Qualifications Your expertise - Our strength

* Degree in civil engineering or chemistry or proven track record of relevant work experience
* Min 5-10 years of product management or product engineering, or direct field experience in waterproofing for various application fields (e.g. tanks, bridges, tunnels)
* In-depth knowledge about different Liquid Applied Membranes technologies, single and double component, hot and cold spray
* Leadership of project teams (different personalities of different departments)
* Fluency in English, written and verbal
* Capability to think out of the box and suggest new innovative solutions
* Teamwork skills, work in international project teams
* Ability to work either independently or in teams
* Experienced in developing and maintaining customer relations
* Travel up to 30% globally


Preferred

* Experienced using and handling construction tools and equipment
