Overview

Sparkz is looking for a Part-Time Controller. This position is part-time, working 10-12 hours a month with the potential to grow into a full-time role. The ideal individual will have the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management about the finances of the business and justify certain financial recommendations.

Responsibilities

* Maximizes return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
* Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors.
* Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
* Provides financial status by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
* Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
* Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions.
* Ensures operation of equipment by establishing preventive maintenance requirements and service contracts, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
* Maintains financial staff results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
* Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.

Requirements and Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.

· Minimum of 10-15 years’ experience in accounting/finance.

· Experience working in a start-up and manufacturing environments.

· Previous experience working with State and Federal grant programs with knowledge of grant accounting compliance.

· Experience working in Quickbooks, and scaling to larger ERP.

· Willingness to work on a flexible schedule (nights and weekends, as needed).

Pay: $75.00 - $100.00 per hour
