 Our Sports Customer Experience (CX) Engineering team is looking for a talented Full Stack Software Engineer who has a strong customer-centric mindset and is passionate about developing high-quality applications with delightful customer experience.
   

  

 As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will join a cross-functional team that works closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Software Engineers to fulfill sports customers' needs through engaging and delightful customer experiences that blend inspiration, quality, entertainment, and seamless digital interaction. We build customer-facing features across the customer journey to help over 50 million customers across 25 markets find products they love, and buy products they keep, ultimately helping customers to make lasting purchases. You will have the opportunity to solve problems using technologies like React, Node.js, TypeScript, Golang, Scala, Java, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, AWS Stack, event based architectures and much more.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
* You will be part of an agile cross-functional team where you will contribute to solution design, planning, development, delivery, and improving the customer experience for sports customers across Zalando.
* You will collaborate closely with Product Management and Product Design to refine designs and functional requirements. You will create test cases to be verified during development and feature releases.
* You will act like an owner and take an active role in reducing ambiguity, understanding business requirements, and translating them into technical solutions and requirements.
* Together with a highly engaged team, you will design and build solutions that will touch several systems from different teams that are written in a myriad of programming languages.
* Proactively suggest and implement improvements while driving the technical design of new features and architectural proposals to ensure scalability, testability, and maintainability.
* Participate in code reviews, adhere to best practices, and use feedback as an opportunity for growth.
* You will build and operate new systems that will bring innovation to the Sports Experience at Zalando.
* Grow and share your expertise while actively supporting the growth and development of junior colleagues and peers both within and beyond your team.


WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
* You are an experienced Full Stack Engineer (3+ years) who is eager to solve customer problems regardless if they are in the frontend or backend systems. You always try to challenge yourself and deliver high quality code.
* You have experience with frontend technologies, like React, TypeScript and Node.js.
* You have experience with programming languages, like Scala, Golang, Java and backend technologies like relational and non-relational databases, event based systems, etc.
* Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices, clean code, and common architectural and design patterns.
* You are passionate about writing well-structured, readable, and maintainable code that’s covered by automated tests.
* You are passionate about crafting intuitive, seamless, and delightful user experiences.
* You have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate respectfully with others by listening, communicating clearly, and actively sharing knowledge. You own your code, embrace agile software development practices, and support others through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
* Good and effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
* You take ownership of your work – from understanding the requirements to implementation, testing, and maintenance.
* You have experience working in high performance teams and can drive technical discussions.
* Knowledge of GraphQL.
